Drunken Wrong-Way Driver From Middlesex Co. At Large After Killing 1: Police
Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa, 25, is currently at large. A warrant was issued April 10 for her arrest.

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — A woman originally from Perth Amboy is accused of driving the wrong way on the Pennsylvania Turnpike while drunk and hitting a motorcyclist, killing him.
Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa, 25, whose last known address was in Allentown, PA is currently at large and has not been arrested. A warrant was issued April 10 for her arrest.
Leigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan charged Rosario-Mesa with the following: Vehicular homicide while driving under the influence, a felony, vehicular homicide, a felony, plus involuntary manslaughter, causing the unintentional death of another, reckless endangerment, DUI/unsafe driving, DUI where one's blood alcohol content is 0.10 to 0.16 percent, carless driving and driving on a one-way roadway.

Anyone with information about Rosario-Mesa's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
The fatal crash happened at 9 a.m. March 30, 2025: Several witnesses had called 911 and said a car driven by Rosario-Mesa was driving the wrong way on I-476 north (the Pennsylvania Turnpike) when her car hit several motorcyclists. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the three-vehicle crash on the Turnpike north in Washington Township, Lehigh County.

There were two damaged motorcycles at the scene. One motorcyclist, identified as John Sweeney Jr., 50, was deceased at the scene. The other motorcyclist had to be hospitalized, but survived. Sweeney was a Pennsylvania resident.
Several witnesses as well as video surveillance footage showed Rosario-Mesa’s vehicle driving south on the PA Turnpike north, passing several vehicles that pulled to the side of the road to avoid her.
She was not injured in the crash.
This case was investigated by State Police Trooper Brian Hrycyszn and will be prosecuted by Chief Deputy Leigh County District Attorney V. Paul Bernardino III.
NJ101.5 was the first to report Rosario-Mesa is originally from Perth Amboy. They also report that she remained at the crash scene and was found by PA State troopers crying next to her Honda, stopped in the left lane.
When a trooper asked if she had any alcohol, Rosario-Mesa said she had two or three shots of tequila, they reported. Her blood alcohol level was found to be 0.104 percent. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08 percent.
