A burglar climbed through the window of a home while a Holmdel family was sleeping early Thursday morning, but fled when he was confronted by the homeowner, police said.
Around 1:30 a.m. the burglar cut a window screen on the back of a home on Winchester Lane, then climbed through the open window, according to a news release from Lt. Michael Smith.
The family was asleep, but one of the residents woke up to get a glass of water and came into contact with the burglar as he walked through the home, police said on Facebook.
