Police Chase Mini-Bike Rider In Aberdeen
A Perth Amboy teen led Aberdeen police on a wild chase through the Township after he was caught speeding on his mini-bike last Wednesday.

ABERDEEN, NJ — A Perth Amboy teen led Aberdeen police on a wild chase through the Township after he was caught speeding on his mini-bike last Wednesday, police said.
Officer Raymond Campbell was operating a stationary radar patrol on Cliffwood Avenue at approximately 5:35 p.m. last Wednesday when he observed the teen riding the mini-bike in excess of the posted speed limit. The teen was not wearing a helmet and the mini-bike was not registered or permitted to be on the road, the officer would later learn. He tried to pull the bike over, but its driver instead sped up and drove off down local streets, trying to get away. Officer Campbell gave chase and the mini-bike continued into VFW Park, where it became disabled.
The officer tried to take the teen into custody, but the teen broke free and fled on foot through yards on Beverly Drive and Shore Concourse. Police searched the area and he was located shortly thereafter on Lorraine Drive and taken into custody.
