Police Officer Shot Man At Old Bridge Hampton Inn

Upon arrival, the officers discovered a man stabbing a female victim, said the prosecutor. In response, one officer fired his gun:

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A police officer shot a man who police say was stabbing a woman late Saturday night at the Hampton Inn on Spring Valley Road in Old Bridge, announced the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

Old Bridge Police were called to the hotel at 2:57 a.m. Saturday, for an initial report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, the police officers discovered a male suspect stabbing a female victim, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

In response, officers shot at and struck the individual. The man is currently at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital being treated for his injuries.

The shooting is currently under investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to call Detective Jose Rosario of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3289.
