Possible Explosive Device Found In Old Bridge Thursday Afternoon

Breaking: Old Bridge police said the shell of a suspected homemade bomb was found in the London Terrace apartment complex Thursday.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Old Bridge police told an NJ.com reporter that the shell of a suspected homemade bomb was found sitting in an abandoned pickup truck parked outside an apartment complex Thursday afternoon.

Public information officer Capt. Joe Mandola of the Old Bridge police department told NJ.com the device was first found by maintenance workers at little after noon today. The device was in a red pickup truck parked at the London Terrace apartment complex. NJ State Police and FBI Homeland Security were called in. They determined it was an explosive device, but it did not appear to be active, Mandola said.
