Roller Derby Game to Benefit Skater Battling Breast Cancer

Red Bank Roller Vixens take on Atlantic Coast Roller Girls in charity fundraiser

The Red Bank Roller Vixens’ final home game of the 2014 season will benefit teammate and bench manager Malaya Kelly, aka Slamour Doll, who has been battling Stage IV Triple Negative breast cancer for two years.
The Vixens will donate a portion of the proceeds from the game to Kelly’s team in the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which will be held Oct. 19 in Point Pleasant Beach. Last year, the Vixens raised over $8,000 for Team Slamour Doll. They’re hoping to beat that amount this year.
“Slamour Doll has always been a huge supporter of the Vixens, despite the struggles in her personal life,” said Vixens’ president Veronica Warman. “Now, we want to return the favor.”
The game will be at the Tab Ramos Sports Center, 17 Blair Road in Aberdeen. Doors open at 7 p.m.; the action starts at 8 p.m.
Fans over 21 can check out the action from the sky bar.
Admission is $12. Medical and first responders, police and military with ID get in for $10 at the door. No charge for children under 12.
