Sayreville Man Charged With Sex Assault Of Juvenile
A man who lives in Sayreville and works as a second-grade teacher in Boorklyn was arrested Sunday on charges of sexual assault.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A man who lives in Sayreville and works as a second-grade teacher at a Brooklyn public school was arrested Sunday on charges of sexual assault and the endangerment of a child less than 13 years of age.
Gilbert D. Rimple, 63, of Sayreville, was arrested on June 30 and charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count of sexual assault in the second degree, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree for engaging in sexual conduct that would impair or debauch the morals of the child.
Rimple was charged during an investigation by Detective Chris Engelbrecht of the Sayreville Police Department and Detective Christopher Pennisi of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Sayreville Police began their investigation after being alerted to the sexual assault of the minor child.
Police say that Rimple engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with the victim who was less than 13 years of age when the crimes occurred.

Rimple is currently employed as a second-grade teacher at P.S. 92 in Brooklyn, New York. When asked by Patch if the victim attended the school where he taught, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office refused to release any further information.
He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick pending a Detention Hearing scheduled for Tuesday, July 2 in New Brunswick Superior Court.
