SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Sayreville man was killed in a car crash in South Brunswick Monday, police in that town said.
The fatal motor vehicle accident occurred at approximately 8:35 p.m. Monday on Rt. 535 near Commerce Drive.
Samuel Appiah-Debrah, 44, of Sayreville, was driving a 2012 Honda Accord northbound on Rt. 535 when his car crossed the painted median and entered the southbound lane, sideswiping another vehicle.

After the initial collision, the Honda continued northbound, struck a curb and came to rest in a wooded area at the northwest corner of the intersection.
Responding officers forced entry into the vehicle and immediately began lifesaving measures. Appiah-Debrah was transported to Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

At this time, the crash does not appear to be criminal in nature.
The crash shut down Rt. 535 for four hours Monday night.
