SOUTH AMBOY, NJ — Released by South Amboy police and unedited by Patch: The South Amboy police department police blotter from August 10, 2018 through August 15, 2018:
On August 7, 2018 Ptl. Norek responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on North Broadway. One vehicle was traveling West on August Street crossing Broadway while another was traveling East on Augusta Street, turning left to North Broadway. While both vehicles were doing so they collided in the intersection. No injuries were reported.
On August 7, 2018 Ptl. Fuentes responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on South Broadway. One vehicle was traveling South while the other was traveling West on John Street. When vehicle 2 proceeded into the intersection the 2 vehicles collided. The driver of vehicle 2 was issued a summons for failure to stop / yield at an intersection.

On August 10, 2018 a resident of 100 O’Leary Blvd reported that sometime between July 1st and August 10th someone had taken some money missing from his residence. The detective bureau is investigating.
On August 13, 2018 officers responded to North Stevens Ave on the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a car and a bus. Ptl. Miller determined that a Hyundai Sonata rear ended a school bus that had 19 occupants. No party involved in the crash required medical attention at the scene. The Sonata was towed because of damage to the vehicle and the driver was issued summonses for causing the crash.

On August 14, 2018 Ptl. Miller conducted a motor vehicle stop for a motor vehicle violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the 31-year-old driver had outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest. It was also discovered that the 32-year-old passenger was providing a false name and had outstanding warrants as well. The driver posted bail and was released. The passenger was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center on the outstanding warrants and the new charges.
