ABERDEEN, NJ — There is a massive water main break underway in Aberdeen Wednesday morning and it's so bad that it closed down Strathmore Elementary School, according to Aberdeen Police.

Also, Aberdeen's real-time communications system is down.

As of 8 a.m., the water main break is on Church Street between Line Road and Lloyd Road in the area of Sue Ann Court. Church Street is also now closed in both directions between Lloyd and Line roads due to the flooding.

The water main break will affect parts of Aberdeen's A-D section, meaning those homes will have no water Wednesday, and parts of the I section will have either no water or low water pressure.

"The repair could take up to eight hours or longer. Most importantly, Strathmore Elementary will be closed for the day," said Aberdeen Police in a Nixle alert. "We will send an update later on today."
