Teen, 15, Killed In Central Jersey Hit-And-Run On Sunday

The teen was struck at 3:44 a.m. on Route 35 north near South Pine Avenue. The pedestrian, 15, died at the scene.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — Authorities are continuing to search for the driver who hit and killed a 15-year-old Sunday on Rt. 35 in Sayreville.

The teen was struck at 3:44 a.m. on Rt. 35 north near South Pine Avenue, also close to Ernston Road.

When police got there, they found a juvenile pedestrian, 15, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are seeking a Honda Accord believed to be involved in the crash as well as the assistance of any witnesses who were in the area at the time, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief John Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's office said it would not be releasing the teen's name, as the child is a juvenile.
