Teen Struck In Face With Paintball In Matawan, Police Say

MATAWAN, NJ — A juvenile in Matawan has been taken into custody after police say he is suspected of striking another teen in the face with a paintball while walking down Main Street in Matawan.

The incident happened yesterday, Monday, June 3; the teen said he was walking down Main Street when he was struck in the face with a paintball, according to Matawan police.

The police were notified and, after conducting a thorough investigation, the Matawan police department said they identified a juvenile suspect. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning by Detective Brian Murphy and charges are being referred to the Monmouth County prosecutor's office.
