It has been suggested and shown in several medical journals that there is a relationship between having good core strength and preventing or eliminating Low Back Pain!
A study published last month in the Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy, showed that in classical ballet dancers, LBP and hip-region pain are associated with a smaller cross-sectional area (muscle thickness) of the multifidus, a very important lower back muscle. From these findings it is reasonable to suggest that if we can improve strength and muscle thickness of these muscles, we can alleviate Low Back and Hip Pain for return to sport.
At ProForm, our focus on restoring and improving proper strength (increased muscle thickness happens with strengthening), muscle balance, and sequencing of muscle activation of these very important muscles can help get rid of lower back pain.
