Three DWI Checkpoints In Northern Monmouth County This Weekend

There will actually be three different DWI checkpoints this weekend, Aug. 24 and Aug. 25, in three northern Monmouth County towns:

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Hold onto your butts: There will actually be three different DWI checkpoints conducted this weekend, Aug. 24 and Aug. 25, in northern Monmouth County:

The first will be Friday night in Keyport, followed by a State Police-run checkpoint outside the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Saturday. The third will also be Saturday evening, down in Oceanport. Here's the full rundown:

Keyport: The checkpoint will be run from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 through 2 a.m. Saturday on Highway 36. Cars will be pulled over from the southbound lanes into the Stop & Shop parking lot.

PNC Bank Arts Center (Holmdel): The State Police will be running this checkpoint on Saturday, Aug. 25. They did not say what road they will be on, or what time.

Oceanport: The checkpoint will be run from 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 through 2 p.m. Sunday on Oceanport Avenue. Police will be pulling cars over from the northbound lanes into the Fort Monmouth 400 area control parking lot.

By law, law enforcement agencies have to notify the public of DWI checkpoints.
