Why Birth Control?

When you treat pregnancy as punishment you are kidding yourself if you think you care about the child.  If we really care about the child, we’d make parenting classes mandatory. Instead of denying birth control we’d insure that parent(s) are ready for children. If we really care about the child, we’d insure children have healthy food and clean shelter.  But that would cost money (so much much much much much more money than birth control).

We, as a society do not have to treat pregnancy as punishment. We have the means to procreate when parent(s) are capable.  Unless an employer is allowed to religiously discriminate by only hiring people of the same faith, why should they be allowed to deny standard reproductive healthcare to its female employees? Why do republicans feel that employers should be allowed to force their religious beliefs upon their female employees?  This is clearly a violation of women’s civil rights. These employers discriminate against women that want the standard healthcare offered by non-religiously affiliated employers.  

Sometimes I wonder whether the Republican Party is secretly funded by the ABA (American Bar Association). Why else would they purposely ignore the first amendment? If this is passed it won’t be long until it goes through the courts making money for lawyers.  I guess that doesn’t matter because they are ignoring the fact that the ACA (Affordable Care Act) was enacted into law and deemed constitutional by our Supreme Court. I’m kidding about the ABA; they don’t make donations to any political organization. But I’m not kidding about keeping religious law out of civil law.

Republicans need to respect our First Amendment Rights! No civil law should be justified by any religion.  Religious laws must be kept within the confines of its members.  America represents religious freedom, which means we must respect the religious beliefs of others.  We must respect that religion is personal. Our lawmakers should focus on civil issues like job creation, education, infrastructure and public welfare.

What can you do? Call your representative. Tell them to stop hurting the American people and do their jobs. Hopefully you will also tell them to approve the senate version of the bill which does support Obamacare including reproductive health care for all working women.
