Woman and Two Dogs Rescued from Flood Water
The woman's minivan got stuck in 2-3 feet of water Sunday, requiring a 911 call, Aberdeen police said.
Aberdeen, NJ - Many Jersey Shore towns experienced flooding Sunday, and one woman and her dogs needed be rescued when a roadway, pictured above, became flooded in Aberdeen, police tell Patch.
The rescue occurred on Amboy Avenue Sunday morning, according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers. The call came in at 6:35 a.m. of a minivan stuck on the roadway in about two to three feet of water, he said.
The driver was a Keyport woman who drove over the bridge from Keyport into Aberdeen when her van got stuck. The woman’s two dogs were in the car with her as well, Powers said. A Humvee vehicle used by the Aberdeen township police department was used, and officers helped the woman and her dogs out of the van and took them to higher ground.

There were no reported injuries and no medical attention was required, Powers said. Aberdeen patrolmen Martin Walsh and Gus Grivas made the rescue. Flood waters receded in Aberdeen by about noon Sunday.
