The 39th Annual Chester Science Fair will be held from 9AM-1PM on Saturday, March 2 at the Black River Middle School. All residents of the Chesters in grades K-8 are invited to enter projects. Students may register at www.chestersciencefair.org. The fair is free and open to the public.
The fair provides students an opportunity to present projects to a panel of judges in STEAM fields and educators from the community. Students also have the option to compete for special awards presented by independent judges from the award sponsor. This year’s special awards are: Alstede Agricultural Achievement; Bayer Science for a Better Life; Chandler Engineering Design; Chemistry and Physics; Chester Twp. Police Forensic Science; Environmental; Montclair State University Food Science; NJ State Nurse Association; Psychology; Schiff Nature, Garden, and Ecology; and Veterinary Scholar.
There will be special exhibitors throughout the day including: Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium: Marine Mammals; Black River Middle School: CO2 Dragster Race Track; Chester Police: Morris County Bomb Squad Robot; County College of Morris: Litmus Testing of Household Items; Delaware Valley Raptor Center: Close Encounters with Birds of Prey; Morris County Division of Mosquito Control: Mosquito and Tick Biology and Prevention; NJ Beekeepers Association: Beekeeping Exhibit; Raritan Headwaters: Benthic Macroinvertebrates as Indicators of Water Quality; Rutgers University Food Science Graduate Student Association: Creating Gummy Worms; Alstede Farm: Plant a Seed; Rutgers University Science, Math, and Engineering Organizations (RUSMEO): Organic Chemistry sets / Snap circuit design; Schiff Nature Preserve: The Nature of Science; Science Fair Committee: STEM Design and Building Challenges; What’s Your Wingspan.

The fair relies on corporate sponsors with donations ranging from $250 - $5000+. Support is recognized through display of corporate logos on the fair website and through banners displayed at the fair in various project and exhibit spaces.
