40-Year Brookside Resident Passes Away

Irene Pagano passed away Tuesday at 80-years-old.

Irene (Marisak) Pagano died peacefully at home on Tuesday after a long illness. She was 80 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 14, 1933 to the late John and Frances Marisak, she was a resident of the Brookside section of Mendham Township for over 40 years.

Pagano was a proud daughter of Brooklyn, New York, but she was also a proud 40-year resident of Brookside. Pagano was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and savior to many dogs and cats. Pagano was a great cook and hostess, fabulous gardener, gracious dancer, and courageous home designer.

She was predeceased by her husband Philip F. Pagano, and her son Chuck Pagano.

Pagano is survived by her daughters Marian Matheson (South Hadley, Massachusetts) and Janet Wood of Brookside, and their spouses Pam Matheson and Daniel Wood. Also survived by her grandchildren of Brookside: Elaina, Kayla, and Laura; and her granddaughter in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Caroline.

Funeral Services will be from the funeral home on Friday, May 24 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Road, Randolph, NJ 07869. A private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested by the family in her memory to Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, PO Box 6307 Springfield, MA 01101.
