5 Morris County Towns Named Among Best in N.J. to Start a Business

East Hanover tops nerdwallet.com's list of 231 towns.

Five Morris County towns are among the top tier of municipalities in the state to launch a new business, according to a new study released by nerdwallet.com.

The study analyzed towns with more than 10,000 residents, average revenue of businesses, percentage of businesses with paid employees and businesses per 100 people. The study also analyzed towns’ median annual income, median monthly housing costs, and unemployment rate.

East Hanover was named as the state’s top town to start a business, followed by Hanover Township at number three, Florham Park at number seven, Morristown at number eight, and Parsippany at number 13.

A total of 231 towns made the list, with more Morris County towns – Madison, Montville – reaching the top 30.
