In a report released this week by njbiz.com, the 50 wealthiest residents in New Jersey, their hometown, and source of income was divulged.

  • No. 48: Finn Wentworth, 57, Mendham, Real Estate. Estimated worth: $100M (Wentworth was recently named as Governor Chris Christie’s presidential campaign finance co-chair)
  • No. 47: Neil Gagnon, 74, Mendham, Investment adviser. Estimated worth: $100M
  • No. 40: Frank Walsh, Jr., 74, Chatham, Private equity. Estimated worth: $254M
  • No. 32: J. Peter Simon, 62, Green Village, Private equity. Estimated worth: $500M
  • No. 30: Ray Chambers, 73, Morristown, Leveraged buyouts. Estimated worth: $500M
  • No. 23: Keving Eng, 54, Mendham, Hedge funds. Estimated worth: $800M
  • No. 19: Basil Maher, 63, Chatham, Shipping. Estimated worth: $1B
  • No. 11: S. Dillard Kirby, 55, Mendham, Inheritance and investments. Estimated worth: $2B.

The state’s wealthiest resident is David Alan Tepper, of Livingston, who has an estimated worth of $10B thanks to investments.
