It will be a weekend to not only pick your own fresh vegetables and fruits but a time to enjoy freshly prepared food samples made with local and homegrown Jersey Fresh Produce as Alstede Farms hosts the Jersey Fresh Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 22-23.

Samples will be served between 12 noon and 4 pm in the Alstede Farms Festival Tent. We will be serving Jersey Fresh culinary samples made with local homegrown fruits and vegetables. The recipes will give you new ideas how to use local homegrown fruits and vegetables in making fabulous summer dishes. The festival will also feature The Black Forest Inn Restaurant. a local authentic German restaurant as their chefs will present dishes made with our own homegrown zucchini, corn, tomatoes and peppers. Before or after enjoying these food samples, you can pick your own crops from the Alstede Farms fields or purchase the same in Alstede’s farm store to recreate these recipes at home.

Crops available right now for pick your own include: blackberries; raspberries; peaches (yellow Freestone); sweet corn; peppers (Jalapeno, Long Hot, Habanero, Cherry Bomb, Sweet: Bell; green white & purple, Cheese, Poblano, Italian Roasting); eggplant; and tomatoes.
