CHESTER BOROUGH, NJ — Food trucks, live music, and family activities are scheduled to fill Municipal Field on May 2 during the Chester Food Truck and Music Festival.
The event is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Municipal Field, 134 Main St., in Chester. Admission is $5, and kids under 5 are free. Organizers described it as “a fun-filled family day” and said the festival is a benefit for the Chester First Aid Squad and the Chester/Mendham Food Pantry.
According to the event announcement, the festival will feature 18 gourmet food trucks, live music from three bands, a beer, sangria, and margarita garden, kids' activities, a bungee trampoline, Dixie Twister, face painting, inflatables, miniature golf, and vendors. Attendees are also invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and dogs.
The announcement also asks attendees to support the pantry by bringing a non-perishable canned or boxed item. “We are also asking all attendees to bring a non-perishable canned or boxed item to help support the food pantry. Please help those less fortunate,” the event notice states.
The drink garden is set to include beer from Lone Eagle Brewing, including Flemington Fog IPA, Station Haus Lager, Summer Honey, and Apricot Sour. Señor Sangria will offer red and white sangria. Regular and strawberry margaritas and daiquiris, along with strawberry vodka lemonade, are also listed in the announcement.
Live music is scheduled throughout the day. The Nikki Briar Band is slated to perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mr LoveJoy from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Rosewood Band from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
