MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Schiff Nature Preserve will host its 17th Annual Environmental Film Fest on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., with an outdoor program that includes a hayride or short hike to the woodland amphitheater, live music, refreshments, and film screenings.
According to the township, guests can bring snacks or dinner and BYOB. Before the films begin, attendees can get free ice cream courtesy of Cream of the Crop, fresh popcorn, and a live music set by a high school guitarist.
The program will open with a screening of “Mendham’s Natural Tapestry,” produced by the Mendham Alliance for Preservation & Conservation, known as MAPC. The announcement says board members Frank Zammataro, Marta Longo, and Chris Neff will be at the event to discuss the film and the work of the grassroots group.
The feature film is “Good Grain,” which will be introduced by director Jared Flesher. According to the announcement, the film follows New Jersey’s local grain movement, including organic farmers, artisan bakeries, and craft breweries.
“I’ve been helping organize this event for many years, as a Schiff trustee, and it’s always a great evening of movies, refreshments, and community!” said Committee member Amalia Duarte.
The annual event centers on environmental themes and community gathering at the preserve, with the outdoor amphitheater serving as the setting for the screenings.
Limited tickets were still available at the time of the announcement. More information and tickets can be found online here.
