MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Local soccer fans will have a chance to cheer on Team USA while supporting a good cause at a World Cup Watch Party fundraiser on Monday at Brookside Community Church.
The community event will bring fans together to watch the United States compete in its Round of 16 FIFA World Cup match, scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. Organizers are inviting residents to gather and support Team USA as it looks to advance further in the tournament.
The fundraiser will benefit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, with all proceeds supporting the organization's medical research, patient services and public education initiatives.
Attendees can enjoy the match on a big screen in Scialla Hall while snacking on complimentary refreshments, including drinks donated by Liberty Coke. Organizers encourage guests to bring friends, family and plenty of team spirit.
A suggested donation is $20 per adult, while children and students may attend free. Guests are also asked to RSVP in advance through the event's online registration page.
Founded in 1967, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The organization funds scientific research while also providing educational programs, advocacy efforts, and support services for the millions of Americans living with IBD.
The Foundation currently supports hundreds of research projects and operates an IBD Help Center that connects patients and caregivers with information, educational resources and guidance on navigating treatment and insurance issues. Through local chapters and community fundraising events, it also works to raise awareness and improve quality of life for people affected by these lifelong digestive diseases.
The watch party will be held at the Brookside Community Church at 8 East Main Street.
The event is open to the public, offering local soccer fans an opportunity to celebrate Team USA's World Cup run while helping fund research, education, and patient support for those living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
