CHESTER, NJ — Bargain hunters will have a chance to search for antiques, collectibles, furniture and more when Chester's Town-Wide Fall Garage and Yard Sale returns in September.
The annual sale is scheduled for Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at participating homes throughout Chester Borough and Chester Township. A rain date is set for Sept. 20.
Chester Township has already begun promoting the annual event and is encouraging residents who want their homes included on the sale list to register by Sept. 11.
Shoppers can expect a wide range of merchandise, including antiques, sporting goods, tools, collectibles and furniture. Participating properties will be marked with official yard signs.
A list of participating homes and their merchandise will be available at the Chester Borough and Chester Township municipal buildings and on the municipalities' websites after Sept. 14, according to the event flyer.
Residents interested in holding a sale can register their address and a list of items they plan to sell. The registration fee is $10 per home, and sellers must register, submit their merchandise list, and make payment by Sept. 11 so organizers can prepare the master list by Sept. 14.
The Chester Township Recreation Department, which organizes several community programs throughout the year including the town-wide garage sale, offers online registration through CommunityPass.
Official yard signs for participating sellers will be available for pickup at the Chester Township Recreation Office during the week of Sept. 14.
All merchandise and sales are owned and operated by the individual homeowners.
