Aztec Brings New Look, Authentic Mexican Food to Chester
Authentic cuisine now located at 35 Perry Street.
A new location, new design, and expanded menu will adorn the Aztec Mexican Restaurant in Chester as it reopens Friday, Aug. 1.
Owners Alex and Diana Mejia will run the restaurant – borne from previous iterations of Aztec Nights and Alex’s Café and now located at 35 Perry Street – will run the business with family and friends, according to a press release.
“We are excited to bring back a true taste of the flavors of Mexico to local residents and visitors of Chester,” the husband and wife duo said in a statement. “Our goal is to make people feel at home, provide them with fresh, delicious cuisine and captivate them by them by the fun, festive decor.”

Speaking of that festive décor, the restaurant’s interior was designed and hand-painted by Chester artist and Rutgers University graduate Valerie Zoller-Melici.
“It has been an adventure and a pleasure helping to bring the new Aztec Mexican Restaurant to life,” said Zoller-Melici in a statement.

The restaurant will be open Tuesday through Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with menu items including local favorites as well as chorizo tacos, bistec Azteca and chalupas. The establishment is BYOB. Find out more here.
