School is starting soon in Mendham and Chester. Check out all the important dates you need to know this coming year:
MENDHAM/CHESTER, NJ — Back-to-school planning has already begun in the Mendham and Chester areas, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Chester School District, Mendham Township School District, Mendham Borough School District and West Morris Mendham High School.
The first day of school for most students in Mendham and Chester is Aug. 24.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its two-and-a-half-year mark.

As of Aug. 12, no new announcements regarding a change in the mask policy for students in school or on school buses, regardless of vaccination status, have been made by the districts, which include Chester School District, Mendham Borough and Township School Districts, and West Morris Mendham High School, which is part of the West Morris Regional High School District.
COVID-19 school guidelines could be significantly relaxed by the CDC in the coming days. Specifically, guidelines addressing screening for the virus as well as social distancing could be eased, according to CNN.
