'Beacon of Hope' Christmas Tree Donated by Hidden Pond Farm

Mendham tree farm donates 17-foot Norway Spruce to Sandy-stricken Seaside Heights.

She's been sprouting for 15 years, but if there were ever a time for the Norway Spruce to come down and bring joy to others, this was it.

Hidden Pond Farms in Mendham recently cut down a 17-foot tree and donated it to Seaside Heights, which was ravaged by Super Storm Sandy in the fall of 2012.

In a video of the event by app.com, students from Seaside Heights joined members of the local tree farm for a day of fun and taking down the tree before sending it down the shore.

Hidden Pond Farm owners Christian Nicholson called the tree a "beacon of hope" for the residents and children of Seaside Heights.
