Sandy Survivors: Have You Filled Out a "Needs Assessment" Form?

Five months out from Hurricane Sandy, volunteers go to streets to provide a needs assessment for those recovering in the Port Monmouth area.

To drive through Port Monmouth on this lovely afternoon, five months after the storm, you might miss the fact that some homes are just missing.

You won't be able to tell that many, while they look fine on the outside, are gutted and empty on the inside.

Or you may not catch on to the fact that these gracious, hardworking, and resilient homeowners are struggling to get their lives back to normal.

We went door to door on Sunday April 7, 2013 and passed out 61 Need Assessment forms.

No one we spoke to had heard of this form previously.

If you didnt see us, we left some at the Deli on Wilson Avenue.

You may also get them from the Mayor's office.

It is frustrating and sad that there is no sense of normalcy or support to the residents 5 months out!
