Brookside Beach Goes To The Dogs For 'Doggy Dip' Events In Mendham

The summer may be officially over, but Fido will still enjoy a swim—or two—at Brookside Beach.

MENDHAM, NJ — Now that the summer is winding down and beach season has come to an end for people, their canine counterparts will be able to catch some waves this month.

Mendham Township Recreation is hosting its beloved annual "Doggy Dip" event at Brookside Beach on 18 West Main Street, from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 and noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Doggy Dip costs $5 for each Mendham Township dog and $10 per dog from outside of Mendham Township, according to officials.

Participating dogs must be vaccinated and "well-mannered," and their owners must sign a waiver when they arrive at the event.

In addition, Mendham Township Recreation will also host a movie night and dance party on Saturday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. on the Brookside Field. The film, Disney's Encanto, will begin after the sun has set.

All attendees will be able to enjoy popcorn and fun prizes, and the event is free for all residents.
