Mendham Township School Budget Presentation March 21

The 2013-2014 budget will be unveiled for the public right for their consideration before the April 15 vote.

Superintendent Sal Constantino announced that there will be a budget presentation on Thursday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the media center of the elementary school, and that the regularly scheduled meeting on March 19 is canceled.

"We feel as though we have a very, very strong draft that's in its final form," Constantino said. "We're looking forward to the review from the department of ed., if they have any comments or efficiencies that they suggest. With every day that goes by we go through pieces and the accounts again and make sure that there's nothing that we're missing or nothing that we need to potentially look at. We've been through it many times, down to the dollar, so we are confident that we have a good budget to move forward with."

While Mendham Township was not one of the 378 lucky ones to receive increases in funding next year, Constantino said they were expecting the flat figure they received.

"That was what we used during our planning process for our budget this year, so we're very happy with that being a possibility," Constantino said.

Constantino added that the budget will go up for vote on April 15, and, if passed, will take effect at the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1.
