Iron Girl Project’s (IGP) Annual Fundraiser, Laps for Lex 5K & 1M Run/Walk, will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Gates open at 8 am, immediately followed by bib distribution and same-day registration. All participants are encouraged to arrive by 8:45 am to enjoy a pre-race stretch followed by opening remarks.
The event takes place at the Somerset County Park Commission's Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, NJ (rain or shine). The 5K is chip timed, results are posted immediately after the race.
By participating in the race live or virtually, you are supporting the Iron Girl Project, a 501 (3) (c) non-profit. IGP is dedicated to honoring the memory of Alexea "Lex" Karpinski by supporting high school student athletes through the annual Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarship. Our mission is to inspire student athletes to create a lasting impact that positively influences their teammates, families, and communities. We recognize and reward those who embody Lex's spirit of grit, tenacity, and humility both on and off the field. These leaders strive to make themselves and others better every day, continuing Lex's tradition of excellence and compassion.
After the race and awards, the 2025 Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarship winners will receive their scholarships, each in the amount of $2,253. We hope you will stay and celebrate their hard work.
