On Thursday, October 1st at 7pm, join locals Katie Feather & Ryan Ross as they take us on a “behind the scenes” look at their podcast Hometown History NJ featuring Mendham at the Mendham Township Library.
Join Katie Feather & Ryan Ross of the podcast Hometown History NJ as they give a "behind the scenes" look at the making of their first season of Hometown History NJ that focused on Mendham. Learn why we decided to start the podcast as Mendham residents, and what it takes to make a high quality, award winning program. They will also share some bonus Mendham history stories that didn't make it into the 6 episodes, including more info on the myth of Abner Doubleday, the Black Horse, and the history of Schiff Nature Preserve.

About Mendham Township Historic Preservation Committee:
Mendham Township’s Historic Preservation Committee has likely existed in official and unofficial forms since the township’s formation.Notes and Town record books and documents kept from the late 1700s and early 1800s take great care to document which families lived where and the old Native American footpaths which eventually would become Route 24.In 2018, the Township officially established via ordinance the Historic Preservation Committee. Some of the Committee’s responsibilities include review of applications for development, advise on said applications, make recommendations for preservation of historic sites, and prepare a survey of historic sites.The Historic Preservation Committee is dedicated to preserving Mendham Township’s historic nature and charm.
