History Gaming Series – WWII D-Day Battle at the Mendham Township Library
Mendham, NJ –
On Sunday, November 15th at 2pm, join Historical Miniatures Gaming Society Next Gen Gaming as they present the interactive tabletop History Gaming Series featuring WWII D-Day at the Mendham Township Library.
D-Day, June 6, 1944 was by almost all measures an astonishing military success for the allied forces. Their five beachheads were secured, but in the days and weeks that followed fierce battles were fought to break out and through the German defensive lines and stop their counterattacks. The fighting involved air forces, artillery, infantry, armored units, paratroopers, sabotage, engineering and logistic units. This final game our HGS game represents the race and fighting for critical chokepoints, here by American and German tank units in a race to gain an important road-junction. The tanks and Kampfpanzers need commanders. Come and be one!
Now you too can be part of the action! Participants will use dice and strategy to move their soldiers about on a realistic tabletop 3D reproduction of the battlefield in hopes to win the day. Don't miss your chance to be a part of history!
For Middle Schoolers and Up!

Currently, HMGS Next Gen is working with libraries, public and private universities, secondary schools, and corporate organizations. We are composed of facilitators who have seen, first hand, the value of games as a learning tool. Games provide participants with an opportunity to explore diversity, teamwork and camaraderie. This is done through analytical thinking, leadership and stress management. The key developmental points carry over to real life skills that are used on a daily basis.
