Chester Area Lions Club Sponsored Visions and Hearing Screenings

On May 10 and 20, 2017 the Chester Lions Club coordinated free vision and hearing screenings at the Marian Manor Retirement Home in Caldwell and House of Prayer Health Fair in Newark. During the Caldwell event, nineteen senior citizens were screened by representatives of the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and another twenty one participants were screened for hearing. During the Newark screening, thirty-eight people received vision testing, and another fifteen received hearing tests. These efforts are part of the original mission of Lionism, eyesight conservation, and the Club works to help the members of the community protect against the loss or reduction of eyesight and hearing.
