Chester Business Owner, Resident Dies at 61

Nancy Strampfer was also a member of St. Lawrence Church.

Whether it was at Chico’s, Kabloom, or at church, it wasn’t hard to spot Nancy Strampfer in Chester.

The resident and business owner died Monday at the age of 61.

Strampfer was born March 30, 1953 in New York. She most recently worked at Chico’s in Chester and co-owned Kabloom Florist in town, where she was an active member of St. Lawrence Church. She was also involved in Girl Scouts.

She is survived by her husband, John, her son Matthew, and daughter Kathleen.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at William J. Leber Funeral Home at 15 Furnace Road in Chester. There will also be visitation at Cassidy Funeral Home at 156 Willis Avenue in Mineola, NY 11501 on Friday, March 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Strampfer’s name.
