Chester Farm Donates 13 Tons Of Food To Local Pantry

Alstede Farms donated 26,837 to The Interfaith Food Pantry last year.

CHESTER, NJ — Alstede Farms in Chester donated over 13 tons of food to The Interfaith Food Pantry in 2017, and was recognized at a ceremony earlier this week.

The farm donated fresh food weekly to the pantry throughout the year, including apples, winter squash, acorn squash, sugar pumpkins, baked goods, bread, beets, turnips and cider. In total, the farm donated 26,837 pounds of food.

The Interfaith Food Pantry recognized Alstede Farms for their contributions by featuring them on the organization's giving tree mural.

Overall, the pantry distributed 1.13 million pounds of food to 10,000 people across the county.
