Chester Firefighter, School Board Rep, Army Vet Dies at 80
Robert Lien lived in Chester for 52 years.

Robert “Bob” Lien was every bit of Chester.
The former firefighter died recently at the age of 80, according to his obituary.
Lien spent the last 52 years living in Chester, serving as a member of the Chester Volunteer Fireman’s Company, member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, member of the Mustang Club, Chester Board of Education, and a variety of other township committees.

Lien served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, then worked as a plastics engineer for Bell Labs for 43 years prior to retiring.
Lien loved sailing in the British Virgin Island and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters and a grandson. He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey, in 2011.
