Chester Food Pantry In Dire Need of Supplies

Officials ask residents donate what they can to help those in need.

Officials in Chester Borough want residents to know that the Chester Food Pantry is in need of donations. 

"We wish to make residents aware that our Chester Food Pantry needs to be filled up," Chester Borough Mayor Bob Davis said. "The summer and fall are particularly challenging times for food pantries."

According to Davis, the borough is also (McMatch) to replenish the necessary supplies needed for the Chester Food Pantry to continue its mission in helping the community.

Liz Gugliemini,, and resident of Larch Drive in the borough is taking the lead in this food drive.

At the present time, the Chester Food Pantry assists close to 50 families in the Chester community and surrounding areas.  They are a volunteer organization dependent solely on donations. Typical of this time of year, they are unable to distribute certain items due to a lack of supply.

WHAT is being collected:                                

Any non-perishable, unopened, non-expired, food, hygiene products and paper products.

"We hope that you will help our fellow neighbors in need with this food drive," Davis said.
