Chester Resident, Theatre Group Member Dies at 81

Nancy Wathen was a resident of Chester for 46 years after moving to the area from Watertown, Massachusetts.

During her time in the area, Wathen was the owner of Peapack Travel, a staunch Republican, and belonged to the Chester Theatre Group, according to her obituary at williamjleberfh.com.

Wathen passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover on Nov. 22 at the age of 81. She was born March 16, 1932.

She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and two sisters. Wathen is predeceased by her husband and one daughter. A celebration of Wathen’s life will be celebrated at William J. Leber Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m.
