Chester Scouts Scare Up 'Despicable' Display for Annual Contest Win

The task may not have been as challenging as stealing the moon, but Girl Scout Troop 4908 was equally successful.

Of course, that story line comes from the animated film Despicable Me, where super villain Gru and his minions set out to wreak havoc on the world.

Channeling that same gumption, the young ladies of Troop 4908 entered Chester’s annual scarecrow display and lined up their creation on Main Street.

In the 15th annual event, the troop painted 10 pumpkins in the likeness of yellow minions, and had Gru stand tall behind them.

Their efforts, which consisted of several after-school meetings, landed them the top prize in the borough-wide contest.

Troop members include Olivia Gonzalez; Anika Shah; Elizabeth Fox; Tori Ling; Grace Gambuti; Natalia Cresti; Alyssa Ettel; Maggie Lee; and Sara Barno.
