Chester Twp. Rep A 'Model Member' of Regional BOE, Resident Says

Readers say Marcia Asdal, running for re-election in November, is an easy choice to vote for.

Dear Editor,

Spending the past seventeen years in Chester with our three children attending Dickerson, Bragg, Black River and Mendham High School we feel like we have learned a few things about the schools, teachers and school board. Overall, we could not be happier with the outcomes for our children. They have thrived in a safe, welcoming and learning environment. However, that doesn’t mean there are not opportunities for improvement even in our wonderful school system here in Chester.

The single best way to continue to make our schools better is through leadership. This leadership starts at the School Board with its individual members. These members have a responsibility to put the children of the district first. Putting the children first means prioritize programs like STEM, creating an open dialogue between the Board, parents and their children, giving open and unbiased communications from Board discussions and addressing difficult challenges straight-on like the unequal spending per pupil between Central and Mendham High School’s.

Marcia Asdal is a model member of the Board of Education, she has been on the forefront of each of the topics mentioned above and knowing her personally, she truly cares about the quality of education in our community. So if you are interested in voting for someone who will be open on the issues, fight for the right priorities and most importantly be an advocate for the children of the district, then one choice on Election Day is easy.

Sincerely,
Terry and Amy Sutter
Chester Township
