Coldwell Banker Helps Habitat for Humanity

CHESTER, N.J. (June 17, 2019) – Volunteers from the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Chester real estate office took part in a Habitat for Humanity home construction project as part of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Day community service event in May. This new home in Dover will benefit a local family in need.

Approximately 25 volunteers contributed their time and effort to help in constructing a new, three-bedroom Cape Cod-style home on a donated lot, replacing a home that was damaged in a fire and subsequently demolished. The recipients are a mother and her four sons, aged 15 to 25, who currently share a small, two-bedroom apartment in the attic of a home. The prospective residents will contribute at least 300 hours of sweat equity to their new home, assisted by volunteers.

“I am proud of the volunteers from this office who contributed so generously to the local community. They give back all year, and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Day is an opportunity to make a positive impact on a regional level,” said John Varriano, branch vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Chester. “I also want to thank Kevin McCarthy, who served as Cares Ambassador and organized this project.”

All 49 real estate offices affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, New York gave back to local communities via charitable efforts as part of the seventh annual Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Day event. Each office selected a Cares Day service project, with most of them taking place May 2-4.

Since its inception in 2005, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares has given more than $1 million to charities supporting local communities in New Jersey and Rockland County, New York, along with countless volunteer hours donated by affiliated real estate agents, managers and staff.
