Contested Elections Underway In Mendham

Both Mendham Borough and Mendham Township have races heading into November.

MENDHAM, NJ - A quiet primary election season has given way to a contested general election season in Mendham Borough and Mendham Township as the July 7 election results are complete, according to Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi.

In Mendham Borough, Republicans Brad Badal and John Andrews have secured their party's nomination with 562 and 580 votes respectively. This fall they will face Democratic candidate Melissa Young, who picked up her party's nomination with 678 votes.

Over in Mendham Township, current Democratic Committeewoman Amalia Duarte got the nod from her party with 743 votes while George Williams was selected by the Republicans to oppose her with 637 votes.

Across Morris County voter turnout was approximately 98,776 out of 369,658 registered voters. Or 26 percent.

The general election is currently scheduled for Nov. 3.
