Mendham Twp Board of Ed Bids Goodbye To Three
Superintendent, business administrator and teacher all depart district.
Tuesday night’s meeting of the Board of Education was full of goodbyes. The district waved goodbye to three employees, including two administrators and a teacher.
Language Arts Literacy teacher Nancy Wilson was the first to be honored by colleagues on Tuesday night. Wilson, who served 10 years in the district, is retiring at the conclusion of the school year.
“I put a sentence in my letter of retirement saying that I really have treasured these ten years. It is bittersweet for me. It’s just a phenomenal district, a great staff, great administration, wonderful children and parents I’ll never forget,” Wilson said. “I think it’s a wonderful community. Thank you so much for letting me teach your children. It’s been a privilege.”

Wilson’s impact was felt among her colleagues and throughout the district.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with her for quite a long time. We started out as colleagues in the middle school. She moved over to the elementary school, and I followed a few years after,” current principal Sandy Cullis said. “She just really has been a highlight in our district.”

"Thank you for all of your dedication,” Cullis continued. “You have really changed and affected many students’ lives.”
Word of Wilson’s hard work reached all the way up to office of Superintendent Kristopher Harrison, who offered additional praise.
“We acknowledge, celebrate and recognize the retirement of Nancy Wilson,” Harrison said. “She has served the district for many years and worked tirelessly for the benefit of our children.”
Tuesday night was also bittersweet for Harrison, after serving as superintendent for the past four years.
“I have to say, I’m very proud to have been a part of your community and I thank you for the opportunity and trust that you’ve shared in allowing me to lead your schools the past four year,” Harrison said. “Personally and professionally, they have been the best of my life. I’ve enjoyed every minute; there has never been a day when there was hesitation getting out of bed. With another week and a half left, it’s going to be difficult to say goodbye. It’s certainly been an amazing journey.”
Leaving alongside Harrison is School Business Administrator and Board Secretary Debbie Muscara, who is departing after two years in the district.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support. To the staff, administration and Board of Education, it’s been a pleasure working here,” Muscara said. “You have such great dedication and commitment to the students, and that shows in the success in their lives.”
Board of Education president Andrew Christmann spoke for the board when he lauded the two administrators for a job well-done.
“You leave our district better than it was when you arrived, an achievement anyone should be proud of,” Christmann said.
