Dr. Niki Silverstein Extends Collection Date for Pet Goods Benefitting Eleventh Hour Rescue for Dogs and Cats to January 31

Chester, NJ - Silverstein Eye of Chester, NJ will be extending their pet goods drive for the Eleventh Hour Rescue Animal Shelter in Randolph NJ. This drive is part of Silverstein Eye's "Vision to Lead" program. Eleventh Hour Rescue is an organization in Randolph NJ that literally saves dogs and cats from death row. They are a volunteer-based, non-profit, 501c3 organization. They shelter dogs and cats and also offer them for foster and adoption.
Dr. Niki Silverstein states, "We have had a great response, but with all the inclement weather, we would like to extend the amount of time people have had to drop off items. EHR is a wonderful local organization and they really need help. It is hard to get donations during the year for animals and even harder around the holidays as people's attentions were focused elsewhere. Even one can of food makes a difference. I want to thank everyone that has donated already."
The organization is always in need of items to help shelter the animals including blankets, towels, sheets and kennel supplies. Linens, towels and bedding do not need to be new but just clean. Dog and cat food and treats are also needed. Higher- quality brands are preferred because of their higher meat content but anything is appreciated. Strong dog toys are also needed. Cleaning supplies such as dish detergent, paper towels, bleach, garbage bags and scrubby sponges are welcome as well. They even need office supplies such as manila folders and copy paper.
Stacey Cudnik, EHR Director states, "Every EHR volunteer appreciates donations because it allows us to make a difference everyday in neglected, abandoned and abused animals lives. Our volunteers will go to the end of the earth to save the dogs and cats that have no chance at life. We help the animals forgotten in basements and left out in the cold to fend for themselves. We give them a new name and a new life, but we need your help."
A collection box will be placed in the office of Silverstein Eye at 408 Main Street in Chester, NJ. The entrance to the office is in the back of the building. The office is generally open from 9-5 daily but you can call for hours as drop-offs during office hours are preferred. However, if the office is closed please leave the donations in the bin left outside the back entrance. The collection boxes will be available until January 31, 2014.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Gift cards to pet supply stores or checks/cash can be given to any employee at Dr. Silverstein's office in person (we do not suggest leaving any gift cards/checks outside), or you can make a donation on the Eleventh Hour website at www.ehrdogs.org.
Eleventh Hour Rescue is also looking for a new home, as their lease is up. Donations towards the the best case scenario of building a new facility of their own or else renting another are also needed for this volunteer organization. Donations can be handed in at Dr. Silverstein's office, sent to Eleventh Hour Rescue at P.O Box 218, Rockaway, NJ 07866 or made on www.ehrdogs.org. For questions on EHR call 973-684-0865.
