Fireman Carnival Returns After 2 Year COVID Hiatus In Chester

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chester Fireman's Carnival is coming back to town. The carnival returns to Chubb Park next Tuesday, June 21 until June 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. It will include rides for the whole family, games, music and fire truck rides. There will also be food and a beer tent for all adults, as well as a live musical performance by Felony The Band on June 24.

Debut Of Native Plant Garden Planned For Mendham Township

Residents are invited to view the new native plant demonstration garden at Wysong Park, which is located near the Ralston playground. The Mendham Township Environmental Commission established this garden as part of the Nature of Mendham project. The new native plant garden, a haven of plants designed to attract insects like butterflies and bees, will be unveiled on June 25 at 10 a.m. after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

However, because household larceny and burglary victimization rates tend to rise in the warmer months, it's critical that travelers take safety precautions into their own hands. Mendham Township Police have issued a set of recommendations to residents who plan to leave town for an extended period of time this summer.

$22K Given To Mendham Township In Statewide Plan To Clean Up Roads

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is bolstering statewide efforts to remove litter, beautify neighborhoods, and improve water quality by awarding $21.4 million in Clean Communities grants this year. Mendham Township will be allocated $22,902 for 2022.

Assault Weapons, Drugs Seized From Morris County Home: Prosecutor

Authorities seized 14 firearms, more than 100,000 rounds of ammunition and 100 high-capacity magazines, LSD, Psilocybin Mushrooms and Ketamine from the home of a 33-year-old Landing man, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said Friday. Erik Vandevelde, of Landing, was arrested on June 8 after authorities received information that led to the investigation of his residence, Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.

Mosquito Fogging Operation To Begin In Morris County

Warmer weather and the return of summer means mosquitoes are making their annual appearance. This month, Morris County will be treated for mosquitos due to an increase in adult mosquito populations. The Morris County Mosquito Commission will complete the ground-level fogging operation.
