'Food Fest' Chefs Face Off in Chester Cooking Challenge

Two events to see professional cooks test their best on Perry Street.

Which chef is best among his or her peers in Morris County?

Now, anyone with a mouth can cast a vote.

The Historic Chester Business Association will host two events, on Aug. 15 and Oct. 17, where more than a dozen area restaurants will have a showdown for best foods.

Each event comes with a $5 admission fee for anyone age six and older and attendees can sample each chef’s specialty and vote for a ‘People’s Choice’ winner in each category.

The events will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Perry Street in Chester Borough.

  • Aztec Authentic Mexican Restaurant
  • Benitos Trattoria
  • Fresco Mexican
  • J. Emanuel Chocolatier
  • New York Pizza and Italian Restaurant
  • Redwoods Grill & Bar
  • Streets Café
  • Sub Pub
  • Long Valley Pub and Brewery
  • George & Martha’s American Grille
  • Piattino
  • The Black Horse Tavern
  • The Office Tavern & Grill

The August 15 event will showcase the chefs best appetizer, entrée, and dessert contest, and the October 17 event – which is part of the 32nd Annual Harvest Celebration – will showcase a soup and chili cook-off.

Little Raymond & The Rhythm Preachers will provide entertainment in August, and S.C. 3 Entertainment will provide entertainment in October.
