Former Mendham Resident, Girls Volleyball Coach Dies at 53

The father and former resident died recently at the age of 53.

Shirtz was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Mendham before relocating to Green Village. He was an industrial engineer and worked in cosmetics packaging, overseeing Lumson USA in Summit. During his career, Shirtz worked for Estee Lauder, MAC, and Bobbi Brown.

Outside of work, however, Shirtz was a family man and coached the girls Mendham Volleyball Club, sharing his passion of sports for those he taught.

Shirtz is survived by his fiancée, Edna Cetina, a son, and a daughter.
