Frank Ruggiero of Budd Lake Wins New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters Statewide "Board of Directors" Award
Ruggiero receives NJAHU Board of Directors Award
Frank Ruggiero of Budd Lake was named as a recipient of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters’ (NJAHU) Board of Directors Award for his leadership as Northwest Chapter president for the year 2014-15.
“Frank has made a major impact on the association over the years, and continues to do so,” said NJAHU President Ross Honig. “Less than one year ago, the Northwest chapter suffered from a lack of direction and leadership. One final phone call was made to Frank, as the state board was about to fold the chapter. But Frank would not let that happen. He wanted to save it.”
Ruggiero took over as chapter president, re-igniting the membership base, hosting numerous meetings throughout the year and quickly creating a viable operation that is likely as strong as many of the National Association of Health Underwriter chapters across the country.

“This is a story about one man’s commitment to his trade association and refusing to admit defeat,” Honig said. “We were amazed with what Frank was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time.”
In the last 25 years, Ruggiero served as founder of NJAHU’s North chapter, was chair of the first annual state conference, was elected state president and was a Louis G. Mattei award winner, the most prestigious lifetime award offered by the association.

Ruggiero will serve as president of the Northwest chapter again for the 2015-16 year, leading members in Sussex, Warren and Huntington counties. “I want to continue to provide programming and opportunities for the members of NJAHU in this region and continue to help build an active association. NJAHU is critical to the success of the insurance industry,” he said.
Ruggiero is the Director of Broker Education for Slattery, GA a division of Bollinger and a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher.
NJAHU represents licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefit professionals in New Jersey who service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as individuals.
